I sent a mentor/friend of mine a barage of questions related to ministry in the new church. He was very helpful and saw my inherent flaw of needing to be in control. At the end of his email in which he shared much wisdom came this quote:
And as you increasingly come to love your people, they will accept your imperfections, including your "controlling tendencies" and your high determination to turn the church around by February 1.
